Stopped by school with Corinne today to drop off some library books and see if I keep my Office. Oh yeah, and to get my UPass.
Found out that my inter-libary loaned book from UofA is about three months overdue. Haha. But through some miracle noone e-mailed me, and the book was kind of lost in the system so I didn't get fined. YES! Sadly I couldn't renew it though. This means that I need to re-order it from another library because it's kind of essential for my thesis. Oh well. Upass line-up was surprisingly long for the summer semester, but died off after I got mine. How's that for timing? Ran into a few people, but its pretty quiet in the department. Apparently Dave is supposed to be back but I haven't heard from him yet. I'm looking forward to it. Watched Sideways last night. Not as impressed as everyone else was. I liked the kind of bitter sweetness that it had going on, but it was a little pretentious without actually being all that smart. The hype was just too high I suppose. It wasn;t bad, just a little weak. Some of the script was a little poorly written, and the characters were all fairly unlikeable. It also took a long time to get into. Anyhoo, just killing some time waiting for Corinne to get outta class. Listening to my launch radio station that I've negleted for the past few years... Had a fun time at the wedding. Great food, although I ate way to much steak. Mmmm steak. Coulnd't dance I ate too much. It's fun to play dess-up every once in a while. I felt like James Bond.
Booked out early to catch the Decemberists. They started way early and played a short set. MIssed like 5 songs, catching like 8-9 or so. They did play Mariner's Revenge Song amazingly as an encore, and Colin Meloy came out and played an unplanned encore of Red Right Ankle which was nice. I've recently picked about half a dozen play copies from my work and will review them all, possibly later tonight. (Mick JOnes, The Bravery, Kaiser Chiefs, QotSA, Rose Chroniclkes and Emmanuele (sp?)) Off to drop off th ecar. Maybe watch Sideways finally tonight. Excelsior. |
