Friday, July 15, 2005 I'm Baaaaack...  This thread over at metafilter pissed pe off real good. Traditionally (although I haven't been reading it much as of late) the MF community has tended towards the socially progressive. But this thread is filled with torture apologists and deniers. It's fucking horrible that one of the countries to help create and develop what we call human rights these days is so quick to forgive their military for infractions. "They'de do it to, us..." "They might have important onfo that could save lives..." Fuck all y'all. Forget the epistemic fact that we don't know what information they do or do not have, and forget the fact that simply because an enemy (whe they call evil) does an act you are not given the same moral absolution.
